The MDV Cup group stages came to a close, as 14 clubs looked to book their spot in the cups quarterfinals. Our coverage of the MDV Cup Rowland B Group ended with just one match on Sunday (1/18/26), as Team Senegal DMV forfeited their remaining match against Bridgesports Club.
Ristozi FC vs Bowleys Athletic
Kickoff: 11:00 AM
Ristozi FC entered the match looking to finish the group stage undefeated, while Bowleys hoped to respond after a loss to Bridge Sports Club that ended their chances of reaching the knockout stage. Ristozi wasted no time asserting themselves, winning a corner kick within seconds of kickoff. The in-swinging delivery found Kenny Clapp, who headed the ball home to give Ristozi a 1–0 lead in the opening minute.
The first ten minutes saw Ristozi dominate possession, with Bowleys struggling to escape their own half. Bowleys’ breakthrough came around the 12th minute when Chris Yokum delivered a cross from wide that found an unmarked Greg Adams, leveling the score at 1–1. Ristozi would reclaim the lead before halftime, as Josh Petty finished off a well-worked team goal to send his side into the break ahead.
The second half belonged to Ristozi, who took full control of the match and added three more goals through Donik Elshani, #18, and Francis Meyer. Ristozi FC have made a strong case throughout the group stage to capture the MDV Cup for a third consecutive year. Ristozi finished the group stage with the largest goal differentiational (+16).
